Fujian Provincial Federation of Trade Unions said on the 12th that the provincial Federation of Trade Unions reported the "investigation report on the implementation of the treatment of environmental sanitation workers in Fujian Province" was recently affirmed by the leaders of the National Federation of Trade Unions. The provincial Bureau of Residence and Construction, the Department of People's Communities and the Department of Finance participated in the survey, indicating that measures should be taken to improve the working and living conditions of environmental sanitation workers.

Research shows that the social security of sanitation workers in Fujian has made great progress in recent years. In 2013, the average monthly income of the provincial first-line sanitation workers was only 1327 yuan, which increased to 2087 yuan in 2015, an increase of 57%. Job subsidies and high temperature subsidies for sanitation workers have been well implemented. Some places have also set up Festival consolation fees, road cleaning and cleaning evaluation awards, civilized counties and cities to create awards, technical level subsidies and other projects to improve the overall income level of sanitation workers.

However, the Provincial Federation of trade unions also found that the income level of sanitation workers is still low. A sample survey showed that 62.2% of the sanitation workers had a basic wage of less than 2000 yuan. Their living environment needs to be improved. At present, only 1.53% of the environmental sanitation workers apply for affordable housing or low-rent housing, and 40.7% of the environmental sanitation workers still live in the shed.

After investigation, the provincial government departments will actively improve the working conditions of sanitation workers. The provincial Bureau of Housing and Construction will pay more attention to the housing problems of sanitation workers, indicating that public rental housing in the whole province will be properly inclined to sanitation workers. The provincial finance department has formulated a policy of encouraging participation in insurance, paying more attention to the endowment insurance of sanitation workers. The provincial people's social office will also increase the intensity of labor supervision and law enforcement so as to ensure that the sanitation workers pay their social security in time and in full.
